A roof window receives direct sunlight and can cause an attic room to heat up quickly. Especially on warm days, the temperature can rise significantly. With suction cup sun screens you can easily place a screen directly onto the glass without drilling or screws.
This helps keep the heat under control and keeps your attic comfortable, even when the sun shines directly on the roof window.
Our sun screens for roof windows are fully custom made and suitable for any type and brand, including Velux, Fakro and Roto. Whether you have a slanted roof window or a flat roof window, the screens fit perfectly on any flat glass surface.
Thanks to the strong vacuum suction cups you can install the sun screens without drilling or screws, keeping your roof window and frame completely undamaged. This makes it a safe, clean and effective solution for your attic.
This is why you choose Sun Eclipse for your roof window:
For roof windows you can install the sun screens either on the outside or on the inside of the glass. The best option depends on accessibility and your reference.
Up to 97% heat reduction with Maximum Sunblock screens
For slanted roof windows the sun often shines directly on the glass. That is why we recommend Maximum Sunblock in the colour White as standard for both interior and exterior installation.
White reflects sunlight optimally and can block up to 97% of heat when mounted outside. This ensures maximum performance from your roof window sun screens and keeps the room noticeably cooler.
Our suction cup sun screens are suitable for both flat roof windows and slanted roof windows. Installation is equally simple for both types. Because the screens are fully custom made, they fit perfectly on the glass and can be installed quickly and safely without drilling.
Installation in short:
Removing the screens is just as easy. Store the sun screens clean and dry so they can easily be reinstalled next spring.
Roof windows are often exposed to direct sunlight and therefore receive a lot of UV radiation. At Sun Eclipse both the screen fabric and the vacuum suction cups are resistant to UV radiation and hardly discolour.
After the warm season you can easily remove the screen and store it clean and dry so it is ready to reinstall in spring. For cleaning, use the special Sun Eclipse cleaner and a soft cloth. This allows you to thoroughly clean both the screen and suction cups so they are ready for the next season.

Roof windows allow a lot of heat inside because the sun shines almost directly onto them. The most effective way to keep the heat out is with a screen mounted on the outside of the roof window. Exterior installation blocks the heat before it reaches the glass.
For roof windows, Maximum Sunblock in white is always the recommended choice. A white screen reflects a large portion of the sunlight, preventing the screen itself from heating up.
With slanted windows such as roof windows, the screen always rests against the glass due to the angle. Dark screens absorb more heat and transfer this heat onto the glass, which can cause the glass to heat up and may lead to stress or cracks. That is why only light-coloured screens are suitable for roof windows.
Sun protection with suction cups is especially suitable for roof windows. The vacuum suction cups are attached directly to the glass and keep the screen firmly in place, even on angled surfaces. Roof windows that rotate in the middle make it possible to mount the screen on the outside. You measure everything yourself, no drilling is required, and delivery takes only 3 to 5 working days.
The best option for blocking the sun on a roof window is a heat-blocking screen with suction cups. Because the sun shines almost directly onto roof windows, regular window coverings such as curtains or net curtains are completely insufficient, the heat still enters the room in large amounts. Window film is also unsuitable, as it heats up the glass directly, which may cause cracks in roof windows.
A screen with vacuum suction cups is attached directly to the glass while hanging slightly away from the window. This blocks the sun effectively without overheating the glass. For roof windows, a white screen combined with Maximum Sunblock is always recommended. The white colour reflects sunlight, while Maximum Sunblock provides the highest level of heat reduction.
Sun Eclipse supplies made-to-measure screens for all roof window sizes, including unusual shapes. The system can easily be installed yourself, no drilling is required, and prices start from just €25, making it 10 to 15 times cheaper than an electric screen. Delivered within 3 to 5 working days.
The best indoor sun protection is a solution that blocks sunlight as close to the window as possible. Curtains are often positioned too far away from the glass, causing heat to build up between the curtain and the window. Window film, on the other hand, is attached directly to the glass, which causes the glass itself to heat up and release heat indoors, with a risk of thermal cracks.
Sun protection with suction cups is an ideal alternative for indoor installation. The screen is attached directly to the glass using vacuum suction cups, while still hanging approximately 2 cm away from the window. This blocks sunlight before it enters the room, without heating up the glass itself. This system is especially suitable for apartments where windows cannot be opened, rental properties, and listed buildings, as no drilling is required.
For indoor installation, a light-coloured screen (such as White or Boulder) is recommended. Light colours reflect sunlight, preventing the screen itself from heating up. Choose Optimal View if you want to maintain visibility to the outside from your living room, or Maximum Sunblock for bedrooms where maximum heat reduction is more important than visibility.
A major advantage: you can measure everything yourself, no installer is required, and delivery only takes 3 to 5 working days. In addition, sun protection with suction cups is affordable from just €25 and is 10 to 15 times cheaper than an electric screen.
Yes, there is sun protection specifically designed for roof windows. Sun Eclipse sun protection with suction cups is developed to work on virtually every window type, including roof windows, slanted windows and skylights. The vacuum suction cups are attached directly to the glass and keep the screen securely in place, even on angled surfaces.
For roof windows, a white screen combined with Maximum Sunblock is always the recommended solution. The white colour reflects sunlight and prevents the screen itself from heating up. With Maximum Sunblock, you achieve the highest level of heat reduction, which is essential for roof windows exposed to direct sunlight.
Roof windows that rotate in the middle make it possible to mount the screen on the outside for maximum performance. Sun Eclipse supplies made-to-measure screens, including for unusual shapes. You measure everything yourself, no drilling is required, and delivery takes only 3 to 5 working days. This makes it a fast and affordable alternative to expensive electric roof window screens.
Yes, absolutely. Simply follow the steps in our ordering tool. We recommend choosing Maximum Sunblock in the color White.
Please make sure that the extra 1.5 cm overlap on each side doesn’t interfere with closing the window. If this does cause an issue, you can order the screen as a “custom size.”

Yes, this is possible!
Sun Eclipse screens are 2 cm from the window’s surface so that the window will not heat up when the screens are mounted in front of the window. This is in contrast to e.g. a film that is attached to the window itself. However, there are some guidelines that must be followed with HR+++ windows.
